Leslie & Josh: Wedding on the Farm, Part 1

Leslie and Josh had the most amazing family and detail-oriented wedding we've seen so far. They were married in early October in Granby, MA, on Josh's family cattle farm. On our ride out to western MA, it poured the entire time. It was the grayest morning, and we were a little nervous for them, because they were to be married in a field...which could have easily ended up being a field of mud. But, we pulled up to check out the state of the location before meeting up with Leslie and Josh while they got ready...and everyone who was there helping to set up was in such good spirits, it was obvious no one was going to let some rain stand in the way of this wedding that had been in the works for so long. Both of their families and friends were there, all pitching in to make their day perfect. Setting out the hay bails, getting generators ready, filling coolers with beer, setting up the arch that Josh had built himself for them to marry under. We could immediately see the fact that these people work hard on the farm every day of their lives, and were working just as hard to give Josh and Leslie their perfect day, no matter what. It was so awesome to see how much effort everyone put in. They had a pig roast set up, big grills with chicken and beef from the farm, corn on the cob, mac and cheese...a country feast, and easily the best wedding food we've been lucky enough to eat! Leslie made practically all the decorations, from the invitations, to the centerpieces. She had their grandparents' initials sewn into her wedding dress, made the bridesmaids' bouquets, had homemade granola as favors...the list could go on forever. Leslie rode into the ceremony with her father on a horse -pulled cart that had been in the family for generations, that carried Josh's parents when they married. I guess you could say we were VERY impressed with the whole shindig.
